Online Marketing, also referred to as Internet marketing is the marketing of products or services over the Internet. When applied to the subset of website based advertisement placements, its commonly referred to as ‘webvertising’. Its unique features are its benefits to marketing, one is the lower cost of distribution of information and media to a global audience. The interactive nature of Internet marketing, both in terms of providing instance response and eliciting response, is a unique quality of the medium. Online banking is believed to appeal to customers because it is more convenient than visiting bank branches. Other effect on industries include Internet auctions that are in place.

By the time Seth was in college, he was already a seasoned business veteran. At Tufts University, he continued his entrepreneurial energies, opening a ticket agency, laundry service, snack bar and “about a dozen other ventures,” mostly just for the fun of it. “The goal wasn’t how much money could I make,” says Seth about his college ventures. “It was just cool that someone without a degree could actually make things happen… That confirmed for me that I never wanted to have a real job.”

At the time they felt devastating, but nearly all of them led to future improvement. “When something horrendous happens-when it’s all over-you go home… you’re not going to prison, you just go home. You go on to the next day.” Seth learned early to respond to adversity with resiliency.
Yoyodyne, his first digital business, was one of the earliest online gaming networks. When crafting its strategies, he noted clear trends. “We found soon into it that only a small percentage of people actually think they’re smarter than everyone else. When you have to do something to compete against lots of people and win, lots of people won’t play. That’s why the lottery is not a game of skill.” Yoyodyne began to produce simpler games, requiring more luck, and found that their audience grew exponentially. It can be difficult to be able to adapt something for widespread appeal, requiring a continual willingness to reevaluate every aspect, but Seth has excelled at this business method. He notes that achieving the highest possible level of success requires a refusal to hold any single idea or item sacred.
